1991 Dr. Sanjay Awasthi begins basic research activities at University of Texas Medical Branch.
1999 Dr. Awasthi accepts position at the University of Texas at Arlington.
2002 University of Texas at Arlington files initial patent applications for compositions and methods of use of the RLIP76 proteins.
2003 University of Texas at Arlington files additional patent applications for clinical applications of RLIP76 proteins.
2005 Dr. C. Casey Cunningham, Kevin Lalande and Dr. Awasthi create Terapio to license the UTA patent portfolio and commercialize the RLIP76 protein technology.
2006 Terapio signs license agreement with the University of Texas at Arlington for exclusive, worldwide rights to the RLIP76 patent portfolio.
Dr. Cunningham, Mr. Lalande and Dr. Awasthi launch Terapio.
2007 Dr. Curt Bilby joins Terapio as President and CEO.
Dr. Awasthi appointed Vice President and Professor at University of North Texas Health Science Center.
2008 Terapio accepted as member of Austin Technology Incubator.
Terapio awarded grant from Texas Emerging Technology Fund.
2009 Terapio awarded grant from the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
Terapio receives $5 million Series A financing from Santé Ventures.
